覚え方
ラテン語 rēticulum = rēte(網)+ -culus(指小語を作る)で「小さな網」。
望遠鏡や照準器の視野に張られた細い線が網の目のように見えることから、その十字線・目盛り線を reticle と呼ぶ。
同じ rēte から reticular(網状の)・reticulum(網状組織)が出ていて、ret に「網」が共通する。crosshairs(十字線)は同じものの日常的な言い方。
