腎臓でアンジオテンシンIIの形成を抑制し、動脈の弛緩を引き起こす降圧薬。アンジオテンシン変換酵素の活性を抑制することにより、塩分と水の排泄を促進する。また、うっ血性心不全の治療にも使用される。
