覚え方
arp は「ハープ・竪琴」、eggi は動詞をつくる部分。ハープを弾くように鳴らす、が芯で、和音を一度に鳴らさず一音ずつずらして鳴らす奏法「アルペジオ」を指す。イタリア語 arpeggio（分散和音）の借用。
英語の harp（ハープ）と結びつけて、指でつま弾くように鳴らすと覚えるとよい。ギターでコードを一弦ずつ鳴らす、あの弾き方。
楽譜では和音の左に縦の波線を書いて示す。tempo・crescendo と同じイタリア語由来の音楽用語で、複数形は arpeggios。
