覚え方
ラテン語 concernō（混ぜ合わせてふるう・よく調べる）＝ con-（共に）+ cernō（ふるい分ける・見分ける）。「一緒にふるいにかけて仕分ける」が原義。
「自分の側に振り分けられている＝関わりがある」から concern（関係する）が生まれ、関わりが重ければ気にかかるので、concerned は「関係している」と「心配している」の二つを持つ。the people concerned（関係者）／I'm concerned about you（あなたのことが心配だ）。
cernō の *krey-（ふるい分ける） は discern（見分ける）・secret（より分けて隠したもの）・certain と同族。「ふるいにかける」が芯。
