覚え方
ラテン語 beātitūdō（至福・幸福）= beō（祝福する）+ -tūdō（状態を表す名詞をつくる）。「祝福されている状態」がそのまま「至福」。
-tūdō は英語で -tude になり、magnitude（大きさ）・gratitude（感謝の念）・solitude（孤独）・aptitude（適性）と同じ。-tude が付けば「〜である状態・性質」。
大文字の the Beatitudes は、山上の垂訓で「幸いなるかな…」と始まる一連の教えを指す。beatific（至福の）と一緒に覚えるとよい。
