覚え方
ob は「〜に向かって」、ject はラテン語 iaciō（投げる）。自分の感情ではなく、目の前に投げ出された対象そのものへ向かう姿勢を表すのが obiectīvus で、そこから「客観的な」になった。
object を見たら「目の前に置かれたもの」と考えると、対象に即した見方＝客観的、という筋が通る。名詞では「目指して置いた的」＝目標の意味にもなる。
subjective（主観的な）と対で覚えると、立場の内側から見るか、外に置いた対象を見るかの違いがはっきりする。
