覚え方
suant はラテン語 sequor（ついて行く）で、前へ進みながら付き従う prōsequor が古フランス語 porsuir（追う）になった。定められた線を後ろからなぞるのが「〜に従って」。
ほぼ pursuant to の形でしか使わず、pursuant to the contract（契約に従って）・pursuant to Article 5（第5条に基づき）のように、法律文書や公的な通知に現れる。
日常語なら under や in accordance with。pursue（追う）と一続きに捉えるとよい。
