覚え方
metre（長さの基本単位）+ -ic（〜に関する）。フランス語 métrique と同じく、まず「メートル法の」、そして「計量の・韻律の」という意味を持つ。
名詞では「測るための尺度」で、近年はビジネスで metrics（指標・評価基準）として定着した。key metrics（重要指標）のように複数形で使うことが多い。
