monotheism

**mono-（一つの）+ theism（神を信じること）**＝「唯一の神を信じる立場」。ユダヤ教・キリスト教・イスラム教がその代表とされる。

theism を軸に、接頭辞を替えれば信仰の型が並ぶ。polytheism（多神教）・pantheism（万物が神＝汎神論）・atheism（a-＝無し→無神論）・agnosticism（不可知論）。theo/the- を見たら「神」で、theology（神学）・theocracy（神権政治）も同じ仲間。

形容詞は monotheistic、信じる人は monotheist。-ism は立場や体系、-ist はその人という対応は、この語群でそのまま通用する。
