consensusの語源と覚え方
覚え方
ラテン語 cōnsēnsus（合意・一致）は、*kom-（共に・完全に）+ *sent-（感じる・考える）という組み合わせで捉えられる。複数の人が同じように感じたり考えたりすることから、consensus（合意・一致）という意味になった。
*sent- は「感じる・考える」を表し、sense（感覚・意味）・consent（共に感じる→同意する）・dissent（別の意見を持つ→異議を唱える）にも見られる。sent を見たら「感じる・意見」、con- が付けば「意見が共にそろう」と覚えるとよい。
