finderの語源と覚え方
覚え方
find（見つける）+ -er（動作主を表す） で「見つけた人」。中英語でも findere の形があり、作り方は当時から変わっていない。
人だけでなく装置にも使い、viewfinder（カメラの覗き窓）・rangefinder（距離計）・pathfinder（先駆者）のように、何かを見つけ出す道具や役割を表す。
Finders keepers（拾った者のもの）という決まり文句もある。Mac の Finder も「ファイルを見つけ出すもの」という同じ発想の名前。
