interviewの語源と覚え方
覚え方
inter（間に・互いに）＋view（見る）。古フランス語 entreveoir は「互いに顔を見る」、つまり向き合って会うことで、そこから英語 interview は人と人が向き合って話を聞く場を指すようになった。
採用の「面接」、報道の「インタビュー」、動詞の「面接する・取材する」まで、どれも同じ絵である。view の仲間は review（見直す）・preview（前もって見る）で、頭の部分が「いつ・どのように見るか」を決める。interview は互いに見合うのが持ち味。
