previewの語源と覚え方
覚え方
pre-（前に）+ view（見ること）。一般公開の前に見ること、また見せることである。
映画の試写や予告編、展覧会の内覧会を指し、動詞でも使う。日本語でも「プレビュー（事前の確認）」として定着しており、印刷プレビューやファイルのプレビュー機能でおなじみである。ビジネスでは映像や書籍に限らず、商品の「先行公開」全般を指す。
view の奥は *weyd-（見る）で、vision・video・evident と同族。*prai-（前に）と合わせて「先に見る」そのままの語である。
