endorse（公式に支持・承認する）+ -er（〜する人）。支持を表明する人、つまり支持者。
endorse はもともと、証書の裏に署名することを指した。小切手の裏書きがその名残で、金融の場面では endorser は「裏書人」。
広告では、有名人が商品を推すことを endorsement（推奨・出演契約）と呼び、その人が endorser。選挙で候補者を支持するのも endorse で、a newspaper endorsement は新聞社の支持表明。
