perceptの語源と覚え方
覚え方
per は「通して・徹底的に」、cept はラテン語 capiō（取る・つかむ）。感覚を通してしっかりつかみ取る percipiō から、その結果を表す perceptum が生まれた。
英語 percept は、目や耳から心に入ってきた「知覚された中身」を指す語である。心理学や哲学で使う硬い語で、日常語ではない。
動詞 perceive（知覚する）・名詞 perception（知覚する働き）と一族で、percept は perception の中身（結果）と整理すると使い分けられる。
