覚え方
per は「通して・徹底的に」、cept はラテン語 capiō（取る・つかむ）。感覚から入ったものを最後までつかみ切る percipiō に、行為を表す語尾が付いたのが perceptiō である。
ただ刺激を受けるだけでなく、心の中でつかんで意味づけるところまで含むので、「知覚」だけでなく「認識・受け取られ方」にもなる。public perception（世間の受け止め方）はこの側面。
cept を見たら「つかむ」。accept（受け入れる）・concept（つかみ取った考え）と並べると、perception の位置がはっきりする。
