partakeの語源と覚え方
覚え方
part（分け前）+ take（取る） で「分け前を取る」。分けられたものに手を伸ばす、というそのままの組み立て。
そこから、催しや活動に「加わる」（partake in a ceremony）と、飲食物を「いただく」（partake of a light meal）という二つの使い方が生まれた。かたい語なので、日常では take part in や have を使う。
変化は take と同じで partook / partaken。take の背後には *teh₂g-（触れる）があり、手を伸ばして触れて取るという原イメージが partake にも残っている。
