覚え方
sub は「下に」、ject は「投げる・据える」。下に投げ置かれたもの、が元のイメージ。議論の下に置かれて取り上げられるものから「話題・主題」、学ぶ区分としての「科目」が生まれた。
the subject of the meeting は会議の議題。動作や支配の下にあるものとして、「対象・被験者」も表す。
project（前へ投げる→計画する）、object（向かいへ投げる→対象）も同じ仲間で、ject を見たら「投げる」と覚えるとつながる。
